At age one, Kate Lewis won a painting contest at the county fair and hasn't looked back since (that award-winning painting hangs in her studio). After many years of studying and teaching about great works at The Art Institute of Chicago, Kate set up her own studio. Her paintings are now in private collections around the world.
Kate is represented by Sobering Galerie in Paris and featured in Artsy's Foundations Summer 2024 as one of their artists to watch.
Kate's illustrated books include Artists In Residence by Melissa Wyse (Chronicle Books, 2021) and The Secret Garden: An Illustrated Edition of the Classic Novel (Chronicle Books, March 2024). She also has a forthcoming illustrated book, The Italian Summer Kitchen, by Cathy Whims (Countryman Press, April 2025).
Kate lives in Franklin, Tennessee, with her husband, four children, and dog, Gordon.
