About the Artist
MAJ joined Daybreak Artist Collective in July 2022. She is from Camden, NJ. Her artistic talents surfaced at an early age and flourished through high school. MAJ was raised in a small, religious home and explains that her isolation and confinement in this setting gave her time to pursue her artistic passions. In high school MAJ selected the art electives sculpture, mixed media, and sketching which ultimately led to her winning Best of Camden County in an art exhibition.
When describing her artistic inspiration, MAJ shared: “I have such a passionate heart that hurts, loves, grows, and feels; sometimes the only way to express that is through my art. Not everyone understands, so instead of expressing to people I express it in my work. I’ve been through so much, and when I had nothing, I had Art.”
During her time at Daybreak Arts, MAJ looks forward to learning, meeting new people with similar passions, and gaining exposure to a wider audience.
