about joyce wilson

Joyce Wilson’s remarkable career spans over half a century.  She juggled a career as a professional photographer while creating personal art and raising three young children after her husband died in 1970.  Her Indianapolis, IN studio serviced clientele from London to California.  Joyce has lectured and presented workshops worldwide, and her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, and New Zealand.  In 1996, Joyce moved to Santa Barbara, CA, and served on the faculty of Brooks Institute for sixteen years.

Her accomplishments and awards are too numerous to list, but among the most notable are an Honorary Master of Science from Brooks Institute, the International Photographic Council Leadership Award presented at the United Nations, and the Professional Photographers of America Lifetime Achievement Award.  Her fine art images are in the permanent collections of eight museums, including the Univ. of Michigan, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, the International Photography Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Lugen Museum in Radebeuhl, Germany.

Joyce shares her wealth of knowledge consulting and mentoring.  She is active in the Santa Barbara art community, exhibiting her work at various venues and juried shows.  She is a lifetime member of the prestigious CameraCraftsmen of America formed in 1905.
